A DAY AT Kindle Education
BREAKFAST
Meet Noah, a 6th grade student at Kindle Education. Each morning, Noah arrives at school at 8:30am, enjoys a healthy breakfast, and participates in community-building activities with his friends.
Studies show that a later start to the school day benefits students physically, socially, emotionally, and cognitively.
MATH
At 9:00am, Noah begins his day with a 90-minute Math block. He works closely with his teacher and a full-time tutor, getting both whole-class instruction and one-on-one support that meet him where he is. As Noah grows more confident and independent, he earns more choice and responsibility in how he learns. His assignments and resources live on an online platform (Headrush) that Noah, his teachers, and his family can access anytime—making it easy to keep learning going beyond the classroom.
Primary Curricula: Eureka Math Squared & IXL Math
On Wednesdays, Math connects directly with Humanities through a hands-on project. For example, Noah might become an early 19th-century urban planner, using Geometry to design neighborhoods for Black families moving north during the Great Migration. All projects are housed on Kindle’s Headrush platform.

FORGE & SCIENCE
Noah's next 90 minute block is his favorite. Alternating each day, Forge and Science are hands-on, inquiry-based workshops where Noah learns primarily through the completion of projects and experiments.
In Forge, Noah taps into his creativity and problem-solving skills by designing and building prototypes that address real-world challenges. He learns to safely use makerspace tools (like canary knives, hot glue guns, and drills) to create everything from wearable tech to deep-sea cleaning devices. As he grows through each grade, Noah earns more freedom to choose and shape the projects he pursues.
Primary Curriculum: NuVuX Studios
In Science, Noah’s experiments and projects follow the Next Generation Science Standards, helping him build both knowledge and skills by doing science. One week he might create a volcano, the next he might diagnose an illness, and later he could engineer a thermal cup to keep liquids cold. No matter the project, Noah is always stretching his mind and deepening his understanding of the world around him.
Primary Curriculum: OpenSciEd

Electives: PE/Health, Art, and Creative Computing
For the next 90-minute block, Noah participates in two rotating electives: PE, Art, and Creative Computing. These classes let him explore different ways to learn and express himself—physically, artistically, and digitally.
In PE, Noah builds strength, coordination, and confidence while learning the fundamentals of fitness and a variety of sports. He also practices teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy habits that support his overall well-being.
Curriculum: Curated by Kindle’s Curricula Team
In Art, Noah experiments with different materials and techniques to express his ideas. Projects range from drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media, all helping him grow both skill and personal artistic voice.
Curriculum: Curated by Kindle’s Curricula Team
In Creative Computing, Noah learns to think like a technologist. He builds interactive projects—games, animations, and digital tools—while also exploring how technology like artificial intelligence works, including questions like “How can we use it fairly?” or “How do machines learn?” Along the way, he develops problem-solving, creativity, and ethical thinking that prepare him for a digital future.

LUNCH
Now it’s time to refuel! Noah shares a healthy lunch with friends, recharging for the rest of his day.
On Fridays, lunch is followed by special community-building activities, where students celebrate their hard work together and earn incentives for living out Kindle’s core values of Purpose, Individuality, and Equitable Community.
SPARK & BONFIRE
Every afternoon, Noah joins his classmates in a dedicated 45-minute block that looks a little different depending on the day.
On Mondays and Fridays, Noah participates in Spark. This is a space where he sets goals, tracks his progress, reviews feedback, and reflects on how he’s growing. Spark helps Noah build important executive functioning skills—like organization, time management, and planning—while also giving his group a chance to connect through monthly team-building activities.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays, Noah takes part in Bonfire. Here, he dives into Kindle’s core values of Purpose, Individuality, and Equitable Community. Through reflection and discussion, Noah explores his identity and sense of purpose, learns about local community initiatives, and practices key competencies like empathy, collaboration, and leadership. Each year, he also contributes to one of three changemaking projects, giving him the chance to put values into action.

HUMANITIES
Noah ends his day with a 90-minute Humanities block. Each quarter, his class explores a different time period—such as Ancient Mesopotamia, the American Revolution, or World War I—and reads a book connected to that era. This helps bring history to life while building literacy skills.
Like Math, Humanities often takes the form of a workshop, giving Noah the chance to work independently and in small groups on projects and collaborative learning tasks. His teacher acts as a guide, moving between one-on-one support, small group mini-lessons, and whole-class discussions to meet students where they are and ensure they reach the curriculum’s learning goals.
Curricula: Created by Kindle’s Curricula Team & IXL Language Arts.
